A recent study completed for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation conservatively estimates that there are now 13,000 Instructional Designers working for Higher Ed institutions in the US alone. The study also found that, collectively, their "primary goal is student success" (Intentional Futures, 2016). However, the methods they practice to achieve this goal vary greatly, as do the departments they work in, stakeholders they collaborate with, and roles they play within their institutions. Join Adam Authier - Instructional Designer, Blackboard MVP, and Exemplary Course Award winner, as he moderates a panel of Instructional Designers about their diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideas for the future. Session attendees will also get to weigh in via interactive polling software.
