Saint Paul's Faculty members were able to create Paul, our artificial intelligence robot that is able to acquire, understand, organize and transmit complex knowledge to a student, making use of Watson's artificial intelligence and machine learning tools. Saint Paul's dream was to contribute to the democratization of high quality education in Brazil, trying to bring into our online programs a diverse range of technological features, as well as artificial intelligence applied to the learning processes. Our innovative Faculty members - several PhDs and Masters that teach our MBA programs - were able to insert very complex concepts and tools into Watson conversation, making use of natural language and the ability to maintain a conversation with a student in such an organized manner that a complex network of knowledge, composed of several themes/disciplines/levels, is ordered in such a way that the student can really learn while talking to the robot. Not only that, this project gave birth to a whole new department at Saint Paul, with several new permanent positions for professors, tutors and technology professionals, all dedicated to cultivate, control and feed high quality content into Paul.
