We're excited to have two experienced Course Reviewers with us this week!

 

When you volunteer to be an Exemplary Course Program course peer reviewer, you will use as your resource the Blackboard Exemplary Course Program (ECP) Rubric.

Both Gloria and David are peer course reviewers and will share their experiences, tips, and best practices with you. We are looking for more course reviewers, so we encourage you to sign up here >>

 

Speakers

Dr. Gloria Washington is an Instructional Designer at the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) with 19 ½ years of experience in higher education at the University of South Carolina. She is a Blackboard Certified Trainer and a Blackboard Exemplary Course Program Reviewer. Gloria completed the Quality Matters’ Applying the QM Rubric and Higher Education Peer Reviewer courses.  Prior to coming to CTE, she worked in Teaching and Technology Services providing Blackboard and other educational technologies support and training for faculty and staff and as Technology Director for the Ted Mimms Foreign Language Learning Center. Gloria holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Technology, Master of Arts in Education, and Master of Business Administration. Her expertise is in the pedagogical use of technology to support teaching and learning. Gloria’s instructional design philosophy is “pedagogy first, technology second.”

 

David C. Dixon is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, 2008 graduate of Midway College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, 2012 graduate of Argosy University with a Master of Arts in Education with emphasis in Teaching and Learning, 2014 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Master of Arts in Education with emphasis in Library Science, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. He has been with SKCTC in the role of the EPIC Project Team Leader for 3 years. In addition to his duties as Project Team Leader for EPIC Project, he serves as a course developer, adjunct faculty member/ facilitator, and quality assurance reviewer. David C. is an experienced presenter on the national level having presented at DevCon, BbWorld, and OLC conferences for several years. He also conducts professional development sessions for faculty and staff.
