BbWorld: Organizational strategies for student success: Decisions, decisions...

Version 1

A strong information technology infrastructure is necessary to support university-wide student success efforts. Commonly asked and often unresolved questions include: “What do we do with what we learn?"" and ""How do we organize ourselves to get results?” UMBC’s new strategic plan, conducted in parallel with its decennial accreditation review, calls for those questions to be answered. We are building an IT infrastructure that is tightly connected with our governance and policy committees to greatly expand our analytics and assessment capacity to support our strategic planning goals.

This presentation describes our priorities for analytics and student success, the IT infrastructure we are building, and the organizational steps (and challenges) that we must take to make continued strides in supporting our students. It concludes by describing how we are organizing our university-wide student success committee and what we hope to achieve with it.
