Is it your time to join the open-source movement? Don’t let course materials be the greatest barrier to college costs. As course materials for students and colleges continue to rise and budgets continue to tighten extra funding isn’t often available for textbooks. Open Educational Resources (OER) can provide the freedom for faculty to adapt course materials to specific standards and outcomes, while giving students an advantage of day-one access to their course materials at little to no cost. Using OER integrated with Blackboard, the Technical College System of Georgia with its 22 colleges have leveraged OER to design system-wide base courses to enhance retention efforts fostering increased student success. Join us as we share our process beyond initial course creation through instructor reviews, revisions, and college-wide deployment.
