Goodwin College’s Online Studies team gathered, analyzed and presented data to administration and faculty to show the importance of using Blackboard LMS across all platforms, especially the Grade Center tool to engage students in tracking their own learning achievements within each course. The institution made the data-driven decision to have all faculty trained to utilize Blackboard LMS, particularly Grade Center, and posting online syllabus and announcements for students. The phase 1 action plan was put in motion by creating and implementing a Blackboard online self-paced training for 100% full-time and adjunct faculty to be completed by the beginning of Fall semester 2016. Faculty were also instructed how to download their final Grade-books into an Excel spreadsheets to be sent to an encrypted server for backup at end of Fall 2016 semester.
