Lloyd Stock - Blackboard

Blackboard Collaborate was procured by Ulster University in December 2015 and a Senior Implementation Consultant, Lloyd Stock, was assigned to support Ulster University to implement the software in a strategic way. The team from the Office for Digital Learning worked with the Blackboard Consultant to define goals for deployment, success measures and use cases to support rollout.

The initial use cases, in our first year, have been the focus of initial support and the Office for Digital learning have spent time with each academic team to develop the use cases to inform our implementation going forward. Academic staff involved with the initial rollout are identifying opportunities for using the technology to enhance other aspects of their teaching, research and administration.

Blackboard Collaborate is now integrated with Blackboard Learn and is being rolled out and made available to all Ulster staff, this session will share our journey on that process. We explore some of the use cases for fully online learning, blended learning, flipped classroom, staff development purposes, use with remote and international students pre-arrival at university, staff - student consultations, and its growing use across learning and teaching in Ulster. Our use cases have influenced academic adoption throughout the University.
