Our institution has been using VLEs since 1999 and we have run various training programmes over the years to improve academic adoption and introduce new processes such as online submission, lecture recording or anonymous marking.

But how do we know what kind of training and support will be required to enhance the digital capabilities of our staff and improve the overall quality of our online provisions?

As part of an ongoing digital transformation project, we are looking at methods of leveraging blackboard user data to evaluate the quality of our current provisions and identify potential skills gaps that need to be addressed through targeted training and support provisions.

The presentation will cover the planning and implementation of a quality review of our Blackboard courses in 2016/17 and how the outcomes were used to establish training needs, create plans to drive academic adoption and evaluate the effectiveness of our online resources in terms of student success.
