The concept of this activity is to put the learners in the skin of "lawyers" of the subject taught. Indeed, on a closed question (yes / no), dividing the scientific community of the subject taught in this course, we will confront the students in order to propose arguments to support the yes or to support the no. After a deliberation, the learners will discover the correct answer and one of the students will be designated "advocate of the year".
In order to motivate the learning work, an important part of the activity relies on gaming by proposing points for different goals reached (pertinent argument, intellectual fraud, crush of the jury ...). A new evaluation method that develops students' critical thinking, leads them to search for data and information outside the classroom, and analyzes the weaknesses of reasoning. Even if the correction time is relatively large, this activity has many advantages such as the discovery of interesting learning axes, the cure of content by learners and the creation of cross-domain links.
