For the past two years Introduction to Nutrition has been taught as part of the degree-general studies component at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. From the onset a blended learning approach was taken. The goal of the course design was that classroom interaction would be enhanced by student self-study and vice-versa. The goal was to make the online component integrated with the in-class element and that the design and implementation of the online segment would become intuitive, information, and readily accessible to the student.
