One of the newest BUGs is making a big splash. The MoCo User Group was founded by Sarah Sherman and Peter Rayment, and was created on February 1st 2017. The group already has 111 members and are growing rapidly. Specifically created for Mobile and Collaborate users in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa the group focuses on best practices, user experiences, case studies, implementation plans, and FAQs.
The group has been very active in its brief tenure, offering prizes for participation, such as awarding their logo design competition winner a free pass to attend the Blackboard Teaching & Learning Conference in Milan this March! Also, this group loves polls. They have used them effectively to gauge what versions of Collab their community is using, how they are promoting the Bb Student App, and what virtual learning environment their members are on. The MoCo User Group members have been using document and discussion posts to speak out about best practices, highlight case studies, set meeting agendas, and to of course reach out for advice on the use of specific Blackboard tools. MoCo reserves blog posts for running updates of Blackboard product developments.
MoCo’s communication segmentation has been very effective in keeping its members engaged; their impressive growth and member activity is evidence of this. Keep an eye out on this group for inspiration as they continue to expand their use of the Blackboard User Groups.
