Developing and sustaining a competency-based education (CBE) program is an exciting but often daunting endeavor. CBE places the learner squarely in the center of the educational process. Because of that learner-centeredness, CBE impacts nearly every aspect of an institution's academic, administrative, and technological processes. Understanding and being prepared for that impact will help assure a successful CBE program. Bringing hard-won lessons from the field, one of Blackboard's CBE experts will facilitate a discussion session in which participants will cover the key factors needed to design, build, deliver, and sustain a competency-based education program. This session will focus on understanding the elements of preparedness and introducing a new Blackboard tool that will aid them in determining their institutional readiness.
