From budget models to technology enablers/disruptors and changing learner profiles, there is no doubt that higher education is in a period of transformative change. With the challenges of responding to these emergent trends come new possibilities for reaching underserved populations, designing quality into online programs, adapting to the needs of non-traditional learners, and employing learning analytics to promote higher student success and retention rates. Today's online programs require an orchestrated suite of services from recruitment and retention specialists to career services and job placement assistance in order to thrive. From DIY solutions to Vendor partnerships, there are many ways to address these needs. This research-based presentation will cover many of the emerging trends and best practices related to delivery and scale of comprehensive online academic programs, as well as some of the approaches being employed at The University of New Mexico.
