This panel presentation will share strategies, tools, samples, and methodologies Quinsigamond Community College, Villanova University’s, Gannon University, and Blackboard’s implementation consultant used to develop a sustainable cross-program and institutional use of Outcomes Assessment. They will share critical lessons learned from the initial implementation of Outcomes Assessment that led to a deeper understanding of assessment practices and a shared ownership of the assessment process. Highlights include partnerships, development of in-course assignments supporting effective writing assignments for more accurate assessment, an assessment training program guiding best practices, and identification of key stakeholders who support building a movement of acceptance. Providing a safe and healthy area for discussions necessary to moving the implementation project forward, the implementation consultant assists institutions with bridging as well revealing challenges and opportunities associated with assessment approaches, organizational structures, resources, campus messaging, and challenges and opportunities with faculty.
