A brief overview of lessons learned surrounding the implementation, development, sustainability and deployment of a self-hosted instance of Blackboard Learn within the context of secure networks.  This presentation will emphasize the importance of understanding requirements (user, client, system, growth patterns and potential), including as many stakeholders as possible in the initial phase of set up, continuing assessment and evaluation, and the need for creative solutions integrating existing systems with the customized instance of Blackboard.  Topics will include: Single Sign On (SSO), iterative, repeat-use of courses (ie: Annual Training), customized enrollment patterns, actual development of course material, security measures, integration of Blackboard with SharePoint to customize and enhance output.  There will be plenty of time built in for questions and answers.  (Presentation and Discussions will be limited to UNCLASSIFIED level.)
