Blogging 101: Part 1 - What is a Blog?

Version 4

So, what is a blog anyways?

Well, it could be considered a "frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links" [ source ], a "writer or group of writers' own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images or links to other websites [ source ] or, in simplest terms, "...a hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data, arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser" [ source ] .

But what does this mean on the Blackboard Community Site?

As you know, the Community is a place to ask questions, gain expertise, share ideas, and connect with others.  What better way to do all of that than to blog?  We aren't expecting you to write a series (if you want to, go for it!) but writing the occasional post or two is a great way to start conversations and have your voice heard.  And these posts don't have to be long - think: a few paragraphs tops - but creativity is key.  Don't be shy when blogging.  Add images, links, videos, color. Vary your content, or build upon previous posts.  Your choice.  Just make sure to stay within the blogging guidelines. <-- add hyperlink

Most importantly, have fun.  Who knows...your blog may be featured in our Customer Corner. <-- add hyperlink
