Getting (and Keeping) Students Connected and Engaged in an Online Class

Student engagement is a challenge in any classroom, including an online classroom, for many students and teachers.  Online environments offer tremendous potential to connect, but not all students actively engage in an online class.  Lack of engagement and connection leads to missed learning opportunities.  We will explore practical strategies in the areas of student-teacher communication, instructional choices within the course, feedback, and data analysis to increase student connection to content, course and cohorts as well as increase engagement.
