Wouldn't it be great to see just who your students are, and what they have accomplished to date, before you even begin teaching your class? Usually, getting this important picture is slow and, with many students, may never happen at all, yet it can make the difference between engaging or losing them. The sooner the teacher can start building relationships with students by drawing upon this information, the better! By linking student information with Blackboard Analytics, Charles Darwin University has created a portrait of each student and painted a picture of the whole class. Each online class at CDU is furnished with the Student Snapshot report, giving the teacher instant access to a palette of information that describes the attributes of each student. Any teacher can be an artist with Student Snapshot! This session presents the colours in the palette and how they can improve learning and teaching.
