The acquisition of the Blackboard Community Engagement system in September 2013 provided Edge Hill University with an opportunity to further develop and customize our VLE for students and staff. This presentation will showcase the work we have done over the past year to maximize our investment by exploiting the Tabs, Modules and Secondary Roles to deliver bespoke content to our users. We will cover:
Technical set up, including challenges, to auto-assign secondary roles;
Development of tab and module content, design, layout and priorities;
Handover of module administration to academic librarians and department representatives to establish local control of tailored information.
Many excellent comments have been received from both staff and students at the institution. A student comment received on the day of the launch simply read, “Fabulous, just what I needed!”
