College and university communities primarily use static or slowly changing data to report on data after the fact. We generate student summaries in many different dimensions. We provide basic course, student, and facilities data. We report on employees, summarize college finances, track advancement operations, and many other looks at the data after the fact. New regulations are requiring colleges and universities to track student progress using more sophisticated approaches. Newer data discovery tools support the development of complex, comprehensive decision support tools. This presentation will focus on comprehensive tools developed at Montgomery College in the following areas: 1) Student Progress: designed to assist Deans and Chairs to review student progress within their programs to maximize student completion; 2) Student Risk: designed to identify students at risk to initiate interventions that can help students succeed; and 3) Student Success Score Card: designed to investigate student progress and performance in a large number of dimensions in a single tool.
