This is a PDF of the Digital Badge Presentation done at BbWorld 2015 by Megan Cole, Melissa Stange, Richard Shelton, and Donna Shelton.
Thanks for sharing here, Melissa!
Carey -- Do you know how we can access other presentations from BbWorld15? My understanding is that their posted "somewhere" where we can access them. Do you know where?
Coming soon! Our marketing group is working on getting everything posted, but they are not available yet (except like this when a presenter has shared). I'll make sure to let you know when they are all ready.
I think it is on http://www.bbworldlive.com/ . You have to register to get access, I believe.
Melissa Stange, how do you set up Bb to allow students to upload badges to Credly? All I am aware of is the ability to upload badges earned in Bb to the Mozilla Backpack.
Unless you write a Building Block script it is a manual process.
Credly will only show collections that you have marked as "Public". Be sure you have checked the Public" option in your Mozilla Open Badges Backpack account with any collection you intend to be visible to others.
Credly shows a real-time view of the status of collections you import from Mozilla Open Badge Backpack. If you remove the collection, remove a badge from a collection, or mark any collection as not public in the Mozilla Backpack, those changes will automatically be reflected in the Other tab of your Credly profile.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks so much Melissa Stange! This is awesome! I did an import of badges in my Mozilla Backpack and it worked just like your directions explained. The badges are lot neater and cleaner than in Mozilla Backpack. I like how it doesn't show the HTML code in the description. That was one annoying thing about the Mozilla Backpack that I did not like. I did notice the issue date is shown as 12/31/69 in Credly but the correct issue date is shown in the Mozilla Backpack. Did you notice this and figure out a fix?
I had not noticed the issue date problem in Credly. I just looked at the actual badges coming over.
I would guess there is a bug in the API (https://developers.credly.com/ ) between the two applications. Maybe a support ticket (Customer Feedback for Credly) could be entered for Credly to look into it and provide better answer.
